| "Mike Morhaime, the president, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment is the 11th person inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences. To enter the Hall of Fame (one person per year), you should be voted on by the Academy's Board of Directors and, of course, be be a person that contributed to a significant advancement within the industry, while demonstrating proven success. Part of the reasons Morhaime got voted is his contribution to the MMO world through World of Warcraft – the largest MMORPG in the world, with 9.3 million users. Also, Blizzard's success with franchises such as Warcraft, Starcraft or Diablo did matter a lot. After entering the Hall of Fame, Morhaime said: ""This is a great honor, and I’m proud to receive it. The success that Blizzard Entertainment has had over the years would not have been possible without the enthusiasm and support of players around the world, and the passion and dedication of our employees, so I thank all of them for contributing to this achievement."" Mike Morhaime will be presented the honor by Dr. Ray Muzyka, CEO of BioWare Corp, on the 7th of February 2008 in the city where time never passes by – Las Vegas. Before Morhaime, 10 other important names from the entertainment industry have entered the AIAS Hall of Fame: Trip Hawkins (Electronic Arts), Peter Molyneux (Lionhead Studios), Yu Suzuki (Sega of America), Will Wright (Maxis), John Carmack (id Software), Hironobu Sakaguchi (Square Enix), Sid Meier (Firaxis Games), Shigeru Miyamoto (Nintendo), Richard Garriott (Origin Systems), and Dan Bunten - known later in life as Danielle Bunten Berry (Ozark Softscape). So, things are simple for you if you would like your name near all these: start a company, sell millions and millions of copies worldwide, be sure to gain a big popularity segment within the gamers and fellow developers or publishers and keep doing that for at least 10 years.
Want a franchise name. Horde of Peacecraft and everybody will be happy. Good luck! How would you like to play World of Warcraft with an Xbox 360 controller, sitting back in your chair watching the action on your big LCD monitor with not a tense muscle in your body. Blue Orb has just made available this nifty solution for PC gamers and MMO fans especially, allowing them to play games such as WoW with a controller. All you have to do is download the free software and have a controller ready to use. ""SwitchBlade is free cutting-edge software that brings a fully configured game controller experience to the most popular PC games, beginning with World of Warcraft. SwitchBlade provides a console gaming experience for the gamer looking for a new way to play the most popular online PC games,"" says Blue Orb " "Blizzard Entertainment has announced that its mega hit massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) continues to climb up the charts and does it pretty well: 10 million users worldwide. World of Warcraft now hosts about 5.5 million subscribers in Asia, over 2.5 million in North America and more than 2 million in Europe. We could, of course, calculate how much this actually means in monthly fees, but we're afraid when so many zeros appeared. But this is not the only record held by World of Warcraft. It was declared the bestselling PC game in 2005 and 2006, while in 2007 it finished second, behind its brother, World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade expansion. wow gold Also, The Burning Crusade holds the record for the fastest selling PC game of all times, with almost 2.4 million copies sold in the first day and about 3.5 million in the first month. Still counting the millions. ""It's very gratifying to see gamers around the world continuing to show such enthusiasm and support for World of Warcraft,"" said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment.
wow gold ""We're always pleased to welcome new players to the game, and we're looking forward to sharing the next major content update with the entire community in the months ahead."" Maybe all this growing WoW madness has a very solid reason and it is actually a part of the game: it was recently reported that the gold limit has been found by some users (214,748 Gold 36 Silver and 46 Copper). If this doesn't mean anything to you, well... it should, since it means a LOT of money! And, as I said, probably that's the reason gamers are still signing up for the game: everybody wants to get filthy rich. world of warcraft gold Like it would be that easy! Rumor: World of Warcraft for Consoles All the MMO community went crazy after the release of World of Warcraft, about four years ago and almost 10 million players worldwide are a strong enough reason to believe that, even though it's an old game, it still has a long life to live. Words about a console port kept being heard even though the Blizzard developers said ""No!"" every time. Here is another similar case. The guys from Gameplayer had a little chat with Chris Ansell, Director of Product Globalisation for Radical Entertainment regarding the online component of Prototype, the company's next release. wow gold During their friendly chat, he dropped a line that can have multiple interpretations (otherwise, you wouldn't be reading this piece of news). Basically, he said that a WoW port to consoles is going to happen. Here's what he said: ""Because next-gen consoles demand it [the multiplayer option in console games]. mp3 player We have to be online. Obviously it’s gonna get more and more like what WoW is doing, with thousands of players on consoles, eventually. Which is pretty exciting. wow gold I can’t wait for that. It’ll be pretty fun."" Now this is indeed a great statement. World of Warcraft, consoles and thousands of players...
